Beautiful Beaches on Koh PhuketLocation: Tambon Ao Nang, Amphoe Muang.
How to get there: no roads lead to this bay as it is encircled in mountains before the beach is reached. To get there, ones need to take a long-tailed boat for 15 minutes. Transportations are provided if staying at the resorts on Ao Tham Phra Nang.


Geographically, Krabi Sea connects to Trang and Phuket. Trips to this Andaman group of provinces are so convenient with boats from Phuket to Krabi daily during the high season; so is from Trang to many an island in Krabi. It seems that islands in Krabi Sea are out going; however, Krabi also has a beautiful beach of first choices that is Tham Phra Nang Beach.

Ao Nang Bay is said to be another center of Krabi trips. Every day the tourists who stay ince resorts on Ao Nang will go to Koh Poda archipelago to see the parting sea at low tides at Koh Kai; Koh Thap and Koh Mo with the beach that connects the three small islands together, and to take a boat to enjoy cliff-climbing activity at Ao Rai Le. Moreover, they will never miss the chance to go by boat to Ao Tham Phra Nang, the bay with magnificent sandy beach and topography.

Sights:
Ao Tham Phra Nang is composed of a beach located at the southern end of the West Ao Rai Le. There is a trail form the East Ao Rai Le towards the south for only 250 meters leading to Ao Pham Phra Nang, the strange bay with three good features very clean beach; limestone hills standing in the sea near the shore; and Phra Nang cave.

The beach, only 500 meters long approximately, is white and clean as if it was on a remote island, with nice colored sea, shady by limestone hills that block the sunlight for sometime. This beach is so good for relaxation and swimming.

From the beach line, looking out into the sea, limestone hills stand amidst the blue water with a strange look, each of which was undermined in an out by the waves and winds. At the southern end is located Phra Nang cave. Walking up further and looking backward to the beach, ones will see the beautiful beach line in front of the cave entrance a familiar view as the postcards of this angle has been distributed worldwide.

Ao Phra Nang has another nice view from the high angle at the viewpoint on Khao Laem Nang. The trail that leads to it is on the way to the East Rai Le by skirting the beach line with a pavilion on the left as a sign. Up there, a beautiful view of Ao Phra Nang and Ao Rai Le can be seen.

The popular activity when coming to Ao Phra Nang is mountain climbing. The inexperienced ones can try after some lessons. Today, Rai Le is known to the world as the place for mountain climbing. The sight that can compete Tham Phra Nang nowadays is nowhere else but Poda archipelago a group of 4 splendid islands just 8 kilometers away form Ao Nang. Koh Poda is composed of the biggest island Poda, which has beautiful beach lines on both sides, ideal for swimming and kayaking, with Koh Kai, Koh Thap and Koh Mo, which are beautiful with a sand ridge that connects them. At low tides, this sand ridge appears clearly as if the sea was parted as it is so called the parting sea.

Facilities:
Ao Nang is regarded as center of the sea trips. Food shops are plenty for your choices, including tour agents for bus and plane tickets, or for package tour to the sea and the jungle. Accommodations are available form moderate to top ones with sea and mountain views. Tourists usually stay at Ao Nang and take a one-day package tour for the 4 islands.
