King Prajadhipok Museum
The King Prajadhipok Museum, a three-story building of historical significance, is open to the general public. A ground floor room presents temporary and revolving exhibitions, featuring the evolution of Thailand's politics and administration, research studies on the reign of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), major incidents relating to the change of Thailand's administrative system from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy, and the birth of Thailand's constitution. The ground floor also includes a book and souvenir shop.
The second and third floors comprise exhibition rooms, displaying pictures on various functions performed by King Prajadhipok, royal articles, and his personal belongings, such as a set of ashtrays with cigarettes, and a marble paperweight situated on his desk.
The museum also features the miniature Sala Chalerm Krung Theater, where royal movies were shown. Also, anyone wishing to see the original of the first constitution of Thailand may come here to have a look at it.
The King Prajadhipok Museum is located on Lan Luang Road, at the old site of the Public Works Department opposite the foot of the Phan Fa Lilat Bridge in Bangkok. It opens Tuesday to Sunday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
